W R Aces Fame (inside) holds off Rgr Lyon A Tac and Famous
Dungarees to win the New Mexico Breeders' Futurity on Sunday

FARMINGTON, NM—MAY 30, 2010—Rose Webb's home-bred W R Aces
Fame drove to the finish to win the $172,100 New Mexico Breeders'
Futurity(RG2) by a nose on Sunday afternoon at SunRay Park.
Ridden by Freddie Martinez, the sorrel miss completed the 350
yards in :17.324 seconds over a fast course with a slight tailwind.
Trained by Wes Giles, the
Dash Ta Fame filly, picked up $103,260 while winning her second
career victory. She came into the trials as the third fastest
qualifier when she broke her maiden in :17.681. The filly had
finished fourth in the $75,000 New Mexico Spring Fling at Sunland
Park prior to the trials.
David and Ross Hinkins Rgr Lyon A Tac improved off his third
place effort in the trials to get the place money of $34,420. The
Stormin' Lyon-TB gelding was also saddled by Giles with Jesse
Levario getting the riding call.
Another nose back was Holy Bucket LLC's Famous Dungarees. The
Dash Ta Fame gelding gave a game effort and held on for the show
check of $17,210. Michael Barber saddles with Alonso Rivera in the
irons.
Completing the field were W R Dash, Mal Intenciones, Corona Sixer,
Vicente Y Su Corona, Love Me Caliente, Formerly Royal and Famous
Bullet.
